Finally a vacation!!!
Apart from holidays with family, it’s been a very long time since I’ve had a vacation. I’m sooo thankful to everyone who helped Brandon and I win this trip to the Floriday Keys!!! It was perfect!
On the way down to the keys, we stopped off in South Beach and found that it was very crowded. Finding parking in South Beach is not an easy task. But while driving around, we got to...

Recipe: Late-Summer Vegetable Soup
This week, I made this new recipe from my Martha Stewart app. It was yummy and fairly easy to make. I’d never made a soup with fresh, not canned veggies. I added some grilled chicken into the soup for protein. Also, as the picture implies with the ziplock bag, this is a great recipe to freeze for up to 3 months!

This is so precious. Make a Wish Foundation made this boys wish of becoming a super hero come true. They had hundreds of volunteers from around Seattle to help. The story made me teary eyed. Read it.

I made this new recipe tonight from Martha Stewart’s iPod app. It was VERY good! You should try it out. It’s a pretty simple recipe.
Orecchiette with Chicken Sausage and Broccoli Rabe
EDIT:: I made this with shell pasta and broccoli instead of orecchiette and broccoli rabe. Easier to find ingredients, but still very good!

Journal Your Little Heart Out →
I’ve always been a fan of journal-ing. It helps me feel calm and empties out my brain so I have more room to think and process life. I’m not always consistent with it; but when i am doing it, I can tell a big difference in my awareness and being in the moment.
So here’s an article about why everyone should journal. :)

Rockefeller Christmas Tree
We went and did the “touristy” Christmas thing- see the Rockefeller Christmas tree. On the way there, we had found that the decorators had left a big mess! Very large Christmas lights and ornaments on the side-streets.
When we got to the tree, I was a bit disappointed by the size of it… The lights and ornaments were so large.
:) I hope you know that I’m...
Here is the South Street Seaport tree lighting. It’s a very cute area. If you haven’t been there, you need to explore it! It has obblestone streets, great restaurants, amazing views from the pier, a mall, and lost of shops.
This is the Big Apple Chorus’s rendition of “New York, New York”.
My First Thanksgiving Dinner
This year, I spent my first Thanksgiving apart from my family. I stayed here in NYC and intended to make it to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but had such an incredibly long week at work (because we moved the office the weekend before). So I did not make it to the parade, sadly. :( Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to go at somepoint, preferably with a good view from a building rather...

Here’s a clip from the MuteMath show I went to at Nokia Theater in Times Square. As always, they put on an AMAZING show. If you get a chance to see them, GO!! Definitely one of the best live bands.

Today and tomorrow will have been 3 years since Matt’s been gone. So I’m taking the day to remember him. That’s really all I have to say about that…

Just Like Riding a Bike....
Actually, it IS riding a bike.
Last weekend, my dear friend Gail was in town. She challenged me to go out and do something new each week. That could include exploring an area, going to a new place, meeting new people, etc. I’m tempted to be a home-body sometimes, so it was a good challenge. Although I might have overdone it last week with 3 things last week. :) (Karaoke with new people was...

I was just reminiscing about the old days. I was skimming through some of my 16,000 pictures on my computer and some of the videos as well. Then, I ran across this video from my senior year of college. We had a weekly open mic night at the coffee shop across the street- so many good times there! Here I am singing Cathedrals by Jump Little Children. At first all you hear are coffee shop noises; but...

"When in Rome"
In a few minutes, I’m going to run down the the Starbucks in my building or to the cafe across the street to get a good seat on the filming of “When in Rome”.
I’ve run into the filming of a few things near my apartment- The Fringe, Kings. “When in Rome” is definitely the biggest of the filmings. This is a Disney film staring Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, Danny...

Starbucks Value Menu
Of course with the economy as it is right now, most companies are struggling. Starbucks is defininitely one of them. In attempts to draw more customers, they’re implementing a “menu deal”.
For $3.95, you will be able to order a latte with coffee cake or a drip coffee with a hot sandwich starting on March 3rd. CEO, Howard Schultz, said he never would make the move to a...
Fun NYC Events
This week there are some fun winter events that I’m looking forward to.
First, we have Red Bull’s SnowScrapers. 24 snowboarders competing for $100,000 in East River Park on Thursday at 6pm, with snowboarding starting around 6:30pm. It will air on NBC Sunday at 5PM
I’ve been to a one of their extreme sporting events before, and it’s definitely a good time.

My First Audio Post
This has been the song that has been on repeat on my iPod lately. It’s just so happy sounding, I can’t help but smile when I listen to it on my way to work. Also, it creates a great Genius playlist. I really love that function in my iPod!
For some odd reason, I don’t like listening to streaming music. I like having a digital copy of all my music- call me “old...
